Then become a Virginia Tech Science Festival Volunteer! Virginia's 2nd Annual Science Festival is fast approaching and we are looking for outgoing individuals to join us on September 26, 2015 at Virginia Tech's main campus in Blacksburg, Va.

Volunteers are needed from Science Festival Ambassador, Crowd Control Director, Operations Support Liaison, Exhibitor Monitor Liaison, Attendee Access Officer, and many more cool positions!

Mark your calendars for the next Virginia Science Festival on Sept 26th! The Virginia Science Festival is a large-scale, highly visible interactive event that combines the worlds of science,technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM). Organized by the Science Museum of Western Virginia and Virginia Tech, the festival offers a wealth of activities, hands-on experiences, live performances and interactive demonstrations.

You’ll come face-to-face with science professionals from across Virginia and their amazing research and achievements! All ages will be inspired, so be prepared for EXCITEMENT, ENJOYMENT, and SCIENCE ENTERTAINMENT!

Science Museum of Western Virginia – Summer Camp

For girls only!

These programs begin at 9am and end at 4pm.

Girls in grades K-2: June 29-July 2
Cost: $175 for members/$185 for nonmembers **Please note, this is a four-day camp**

Get ready to explore science in a girls-only environment! We’ll spend the week exploring hands-on science, including several activities aligned with the TV show Sci Girls.

We’ll be exploring all types of science with age-appropriate activities and plenty of free time in the Science Museum.

Integrative STEM Program (inSTEP)

Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is pleased to announce the upcoming 2014-2016 integrative STEM program (inSTEP) for future STEM teachers. This two-year program serves to increase preservice students' understanding of STEM and how to teach integrative STEM in the classroom.

The inSTEP preservice teachers must have demonstrated interest in teaching in grades 4-8, as well as science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics.

The program includes $5000 scholarship, FIRST Lego robotics training, conference travel and registration, travel support to two NASA Centers for innovative STEM training, and MORE!!!
