Congrats Tuxedo Pandas!!!

In November, the Tuxedo Pandas will be traveling to China as 1 of only 2 US teams to represent FTC at their STEM event!

The Tuxedo Pandas are pleased to announce, that we have been invited by China FIRST to be FIRST ambassadors at the World Robotics Conference in Beijing, China, November 23-25 (www.worldrobotconference.com/en/Home/).

Jointly held by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the event will include a forum, an exhibition and an international robot competition for teenagers.

Germany, the United States and Japan will deliver reports on such topics as robot research and technology development, and the latest products and research findings will be showcased during the three-day event.

Organizers estimate that some 40,000 people will take part in the conference.

Free Science Course for College Credit Available!

11th-12th Graders in Virginia can Apply for a Three-College Credit Science Course

A partnership between NASA Langley Research Center, Thomas Nelson Community College, Hampton University and the Virginia Space Grant Consortium is offering college credits for high school students.

Any junior or senior in Virginia with an interest in science can apply for the Earth System Science Scholars program, which will give 175 students the opportunity to learn more about "earth system science," which covers topics such as climate, atmosphere and weather.

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium (VSGC) is a coalition of five Virginia colleges and universities, NASA, state educational agencies, Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology, and other institutions representing diverse aerospace education and research.

The VSGC acts as an umbrella organization, coordinating and developing aerospace-related and high technology educational and research efforts throughout the Commonwealth and connecting Virginia's effort to a national community of shared aerospace interests.
