    Science Museum of Western Virginia – Summer Camps

    For children entering PreK and K:

    These programs begin at 9am and end at 1pm.
    July 13-17 – Junior Scientists Cost: $100 for members/$110 for nonmembers Want to mess around with science, do some cool experiments, and have some fun in the museum? Then this camp is for you! We’ll be exploring all types of science with age-appropriate activities and plenty of free time in the Science Museum.

    For girls only!

    These programs begin at 9am and end at 4pm.
    Girls in grades 3-5:
    July 27-31- Science Girls! Cost: $220 for members/$245 for nonmembers Get ready to explore science in a girls-only environment! We’ll spend the week exploring hands-on science, including several activities aligned with the TV show Sci Girls. We’ll also have some local women researchers visit us to talk about what they’re doing, and we’ll show you just how cool it is to be a girl scientist.

    For all children entering grades K-5:

    These programs begin at 9am and end at 4pm.
    July 6-10 – Lights, Science, Action! Chemistry and Engineering Camp Cost: $220 for members/$245 for nonmembers Build it, then explode it! We’ll be combining two of the most exciting parts of science – chemistry and engineering – to do some cool experiments and create some awesome structures. How high can you build? What kind of reaction can you create? Come explore with us and find out!

    July 13-17 – Dig It! Dinosaurs and Fossils Camp Cost: $220 for members/$245 for nonmembers Just in time for our NEW exhibit Dinosaurs and Fossils – you can be a paleontologist for a week! We’ll make and uncover fossils, explore ancient and extinct creatures, and of course learn all about dinosaurs. Get ready to explore and dig, because this camp is sure to be dino-mite!

    For children entering grades 6-9:

    These programs begin at 9am and end at 4pm.
    July 20-24 – VTC Medical Research Camp Cost: $220 for members/$245 for nonmembers Our premier camp experience takes place at the VTC School of Medicine and Research Institute. We’ll have a rare chance to do experiments in anatomy and medicine every day, learn from leading research experts, and interact with VTC’s state-of-the-art equipment. If you’re interested in the human body and the cutting-edge research being conducted every day at VTC, this camp is for you!
